How it all Started

I feel truly privileged to get to use my lived experience of sexual, physical and emotional abuse in my childhood to now help women heal and find freedom

In exploring my own attachment system, triggers, feelings of shame, abandonment and rejection, I started my healing journey. I started to implement healthier behaviours in my physical, emotional, spiritual, financial and mental health and learnt to re-parent myself.

I then became aware of the lack of support available to women around me who wanted to do the same. Not because they did not want to, most women I know want loving & healthy relationships more than anything else but few other women around us are talking about this essential journey inward. That of healing our soul by exploring our shame. There's no scarier or more rewarding journey to go on and if we do not go within, we WILL go without.

I now partner with women, organisations and systems to help create radical shifts in behaviours, beliefs, culture and relationships.

Through Love Dominy we have developed programmes, tools, strategies and insights to revolutionise how we can improve our wellbeing through our relationships; starting with our relationship with ourselves.

Struggling with rejection issues, low self esteem and a lack of knowing myself after going into the care system as a child, I sought solutions in external fixes such as my career and relationships with men.

After another painful break up, I found myself in a church. In building my relationship with God, and many years of therapy and personal development, I came to understand that I had been created with a divine destiny and there was a powerful purpose in the pain I had experienced.

I felt called to start sharing my healing journey with other women from similar backgrounds. I pursued my healing in the same way I had pursued men! And I still do.

My life has been transformed! Externally in terms of my finances, fitness and having healthier relationships but, most importantly, internally. I have found freedom, peace and joy and I love the woman I am becoming daily. I cannot wait for you to feel the same.

Transform UK

In 2016, after many years in the sector working for larger organisations such as Fairbridge, Princes Tust, Catch 22, Creative Youth Network and City Gateway,  I co-founded TransformUK, a specialist youth and community organisation.

Our mission is to demonstrate love in practical ways. Primarily we set up to provide alternative education provision to young people facing significant challenges in mainstream education. We worked in partnership with Shoreditch Tab Church deliver a range of wider projects for our young people, their families and those facing risks in our local community.

We are now in the long and arduous but super exciting process of opening Transform Childrens Homes. Our first home will be a specialist nurturing home for girls aged 11-18 years old, at risk of sexual and criminal exploitation as a result of broken attachments and relational trauma in their lives. We are on a mission to prevent girls in care from the ‘care to custody’ pipeline where vulnerable girls are exploited, and typically then imprisoned, with the cycle to often be repeated with their children too.

Led by leaders like myself with lived experience and vast professional expertise with years of specialist experience, we are drawing on the most relevant and effective approaches in working to ensure girls in care can thrive as adults.

  • We are a lived experience-led organisation drawing on the most up to date, research and evidence-based therapeutic practices and approaches.

We are excited about the breadth and depth of impact that this home will have. Not just on the many girls over the years that will be supported and find family but also, through good practice, on the sector of looked after children as a whole. We will provide a specialist home that has quality assurances processes, systems and, most importantly, skilled people passionate about working to transform the lives of children and young people in care. We will be introducing young people to teaching about the nervous system, the foods we eat, the neuro-diversity of our brains along with attachment theory and inner family system (IFS) concepts which inform our support.

This knowledge, alongside practical guidance on finance, hygiene, independent living and managing a home – in a context of genuine love and care, warmth and relational attachments with healthy adult role models - will help our girls become excellent self leaders. The intentional coaching, creative approach to therapy and key-working support from staff will help them re-affirm their identities and core beliefs helping them move away from risk taking behaviours as they make more positive choices for themselves. We will support our girls to own their story and use their capacity to overcome adversity as an advantage in whatever future career or leadership roles they choose.
